After losing 1-0 to nearby Burkina Faso on Tuesday at the Cape Coast Stadium, host nation Ghana was eliminated from the WAFU Zone B U-17 championships.
The Young Stallions won thanks to a late penalty from Ousmane Camara, and they will now play Nigeria in the championship game.
The defeat also means the Black Starlets will not be represented at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations event in Algeria, the competition that serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

At the youth championship in Algeria the following year, Burkina Faso and Nigeria would represent the WAFU Zone B.
After failing to qualify in 2019, Ghana has now missed the U-17 AFCON for two consecutive years.
