According to reports from Turkey, Hatayspor and former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu was rescued from the rubble after an earthquake struck the Western Asian country.
The 31-year-old and the club’s sporting director, Taner Savut, have been trapped under debris for more than 24 hours since Monday morning’s earthquake, which has claimed the lives of over 4,300 people and injured 15,000 more.
The club’s sporting director is still missing, according to reports.
However, according to the club’s manager, Mustafa zat, the winger has since been taken to the hospital.
“I just got back from another meeting. Christian Atsu was injured and was taken to the hospital.”

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu told Joy Sports that the winger’s health is being monitored.
“It’s good news but we’re following his condition because when someone is rescued from under the rubble, it means he hasn’t eaten or drank anything. As a result, the person’s condition after the rescue is critical.
That is why we are contacting the hospital.”
