
Dr. George E. Gyamfi-Osew was awarded the title of “SOMPAHENE” by the Okuapeman Traditional Council in recognition of his selflessness and beneficial contributions to the area’s development.
If you translate “SOMPAHENE” literally, it means “A SELFLESS SERVANT WITH THE HEART OF PHILANTROPY.”
True son of Okuapeman and former Director of Operations at the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Dr. George E. Gyamfi-Osew has made a notable contribution to the growth of the region.
The Traditional Council for the area recognized his grandeur after he accomplished these things and had a long-lasting impact on local lives; as a result, he was confirmed as “Sompahene.”
George E. Gyamfi-Osew, a skilled Chartered Marketer and Chartered Management Consultant, currently serves as the National Lottery Authority’s Director of Operations after serving as the organization’s first director of marketing and sales (from 2003 to 2011) and then as director of special projects (2011-2013).
George was formerly a vice president for the developers of real estate Manet International Corporation.
George was a managing partner of George & Associates, a business strategy consulting firm, before he joined the Department of National Lottery (DNL), as it was known at the time.
He is Tempo Estates’ Chairman.
He has an MBA from London South Bank University, a Masters Achievement in Business Resilience (MABR) from the Business Resilience Certification Consortium International, Canada, a Doctor of Public Administration from the Commonwealth University, a Graduate Diploma in International Marketing from the London School of International Business, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from London Guildhall University.
George is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute in the UK, the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ghana and the UK, as well as the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration and the Institute of Loan and Risk Management in Ghana.
He belongs to the Canadian/American branch of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants.
Numerous books on service and marketing management are his writings.
The largest professional marketing organization in the world, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), has George on its Membership, Professional and Advisory Committee (MPAC).
Additionally, he worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration as well as a Member of the Marketing, Advertising, and Sponsorship Sub-Committee of the CAN 2008 LOC.
He is the current President/Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana Branch and the Life Patron of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Students’ Association, Ghana.
He received an honorary membership in the International Who’s Who Historical Society of Professionals in 2010.
George has played a crucial role in the development and implementation of numerous reforms at NLA as a Director.
One of these is:

Dr. George E. Gyamfi-Osew received the Ghana Business Leaders Lifetime Achievement Excellence Award on April 30th, 2022 at the 5th Ghana Business Leaders Conference in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the economic development of Ghana in the area of National Revenue Mobilization (Lottery).
