Actor John Dumelo has announced that he will run for Parliament in the 2024 elections on the National Democratic Congress ticket (NDC).
On Saturday, he revealed this while presenting an award at the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The Baby Thief actor lost his quest for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary seat against Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
He was defeated by 2,000 votes in the election.
While many feel he would be unable to win an election for the NDC in that constituency, others believe that if he worked harder next time, he may transform the NDC’s narrative in the area.
On Saturday, John said on stage at the VGMAs that he is confident he will win the 2024 Parliamentary election.
He did not say whether it will be in the same constituency as the last election chevalier.
It’s widely assumed that he’ll relocate to the Oti region to run for the SALL seat that has yet to be filled.
“I uttered 3y3 Zu the last time I stood in front of a large crowd.
“I know I lost, but I know I’ll win in 2024,” he said.
