Parts of the new Kejetia Market in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, have been destroyed by fire.

Ghana National Fire Service personnel are currently battling to extinguish the raging fire.
The Ghana Fire Service’s response was hampered because trading sheds had taken over some access routes to the market.

Three fire tenders are currently on the scene, with a fourth on its way to assist in putting out the raging inferno.
This comes just a week after some parts of the market were flooded as a result of a heavy downpour.
