Former President John Dramani Mahama announced late last week his intention to run as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer in the 2024 elections. Mahama launches campaign in the NDC’s ‘World Bank’.
President John Dramani Mahama, the favorite among three other candidates, including former Governor of the Bank of Ghana Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and Kojo Bonsu, is set to launch his campaign at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode, Ho in the Volta Region.
According to a flier announcing the launch, which will be followed by a tour, “I invite you to either join me at the Cedi Auditorium at UHAS or watch a live stream of the launch on my Facebook page or Youtube channel from 9:00am”

Mr. Mahama, who is launching the campaign internally with the slogan “Building the Ghana We Want Together,” is expected to criticize the current administration for the country’s economic challenges and other unpopular decisions.
Political analysts explain that the decision to launch the campaign in the Volta Region is appropriate because the region will help him win at the party and national levels.

They believe that the region regarded as the NDC’s “World Bank” is also critical in cementing the NDC’s victory and that taking his campaign there means they will be a party to his concerns raised against the current administration.
With his experience as President and as a Ghanaian citizen, John Dramani Mahama is the only leader who can save Ghana.
