
On Sunday, the Ghanaian Black Maidens will face the Young Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in the second leg of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 first round qualifiers at the Accra Sports stadium.
Coach Baba Nuhu’s team enters the encounter with a 1-0 lead from the first leg, which was played a fortnight ago in Thies, Senegal.
With the game set to end in a stalemate, Princess Owusu scored the only goal of the game in the 87th minute, giving Ghana a 1-0 lead heading into the second leg.
Ghana is aiming for a record seventh consecutive FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup appearance after finishing third in Azerbaijan in 2012.
The match against Senegal will take place on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 3 p.m.
