A game week 6 fixture in the Division 2 League (Greater Accra Zone 8) saw Mobile Phone People (Madina-based) and Spartan Football Club (Lakeside Estate-based) lock horns at the Adjiringanor Astroturf.
The Madina-based club showed their intent to win early in the game by registering a goal in the 10th minute through a wonderful strike from Humphrey Doh. He beautifully placed the ball in the bottom right corner after he was played in by Mohammed.
3 minutes later, the winger added to his tally through a tap-in.
Mobile Phone People kept possession of the ball and dominated the game even after the goals. Consequently, debutant Felix Padi justified his starting berth after he headed home a cross from a corner kick.
Mobile Phone People kept on mounting pressure on Spartan FC. This saw a Humphrey Doh strike saved by the goalkeeper in the 36th minute.
In the dying embers of the first half, Mobile Phone People were rewarded for their dominance with another goal from Padi; thus earning him a brace.

The second half began with Mobile Phone People still possessing the ball and Spartan FC showing signs of a comeback. A howler from Benjamin Bakor created a chance for Reuben Konadu to lob the ball over Rockwell Nartey. Spartan had thus pulled a goal back!
In the 63rd minute, a goal from the Lakeside Estate-based club was disallowed for offside. As Spartans, they were not deterred; they continued to press on for more goals. With this pressure, the Mobile Phone players became prone to errors. They gave the ball away on several occasions. Fortunately for them, they did not concede further.
Hence, the game ended 4:1 in favor of the Madina boys. Their next fixture will see them battle it out with their ‘rivals’ Asoya FC both based in Madina on the same turf at 3pm on 26th February, 2022.
