Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, Deputy Majority Chief Whip in Ghana’s Parliament, has stated his intention to reduce maternal and infant mortality in the Tolon District of the Northern Region.

He has stated that he will be able to accomplish this by heavily investing in the Tolon Constituency, where he is a Member of Parliament (MP).

He stated at the commissioning of Maternity Wards in Yoggu and Tali, both farming communities in the Tolon District, that the gesture is intended to reduce female mortality rates in the beneficiary communities, adjoining areas, and beyond.

“No mother should die during childbirth. The same is true for infants, and it is my commitment to contribute my quota to help reduce infant and maternal mortality in this constituency,” he stated.

In the presence of the District Chief Executive of Tolon, Chiefs, opinion leaders, and party leaders, the legislator commissioned the maternity wards of Yoggu and Tali and charged health authorities with putting them to good use for the benefit of residents.

“This is aimed at reducing maternal mortality rates in the communities, adjoining areas, and beyond.
My constituents’ health remains a priority, and I will continue to work to ensure universal healthcare for all.
