The Ghana Police Service has arrested the officer who handcuffed a client who owed him Ghc2 for locally distilled alcohol known as ‘Apio’ that he purchased from his drinking establishment.
While narrating the incident, the man, identified as Frank Kofi Adu, stated that he had even gone to borrow money to pay off his debt, but the Police officer was nowhere to be found.
Frank was going from one Police Station to the next, looking for a way to get his handcuffs unlocked.
The incident, which shocked many people, drew the attention of the Ghana Police Service’s leadership.
He is said to have failed in his duty by failing to follow due process before handcuffing a suspect.

The officer involved has since been arrested and referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for an in-depth investigation.
