Ghanaians will now be able to purchase sachet water, often known as “Pure water,” for 50 pesewas starting on Monday, September 19.

The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) announced the increase “500ml by 30 piece bag of sachet water is to be sold from retail trucks for a maximum of $7.
However, the commodity will only be sold at mini-stores for a maximum of $9 per bag.

Iced sachet water will be sold for 0.50p, while 500ml bottles of water would cost two cents.
A 750ml or medium-sized iced bottle of water will cost $3.00.”

They cited growing production and distribution costs as the reason for the increase.
