Commuters who patronize the services of Metro Mass Transit Limited would have to find alternative means of transport as workers of the transport company have embarked on a nationwide sit-down strike on Wednesday 12th October 2022.
The workers say the industrial action is to register their displeasure with management over unpaid salaries and other unaddressed concerns of workers. The striking workers have accused the company management of five years of incompetent administration.

They are therefore demanding the immediate removal of the management team.
Speaking on Accra-based Citi Fm, the secretary to the Senior Staff division of the union, Anthony Appiah said, “everything of ours is not working. Suppose you have been given room for five years as an executive and for the first time in the history of this company. In that case, there are three managing directors and we are not seeing anything from them in terms of growth, workers’ welfare, and service to the nation, we have to embark on a sit-down strike.”
The workers say their salaries have been in arrears for about three months.
