Mrs. Gifty Adorye popularly known as Empress Gifty is an award-winning Ghanaian Gospel musician and fashionista. She is married to a popular politician called Mr. Hopeson Adorye and is a mother too. Her mother is in the person of Madam Agnes Annan also known as Agaga who is a Kumawood star and an Evangelist. Her birthday is the 25 of October. She is from both the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. Empress started her primary school education at Mantey Din and Oninku Junior Secondary School all in Tema. She continued to a fashion school in Tema and after graduating, she opened her own fashion school in Tema where she trained students in fashion and lifestyle.
Empress Gifty started music quite a long time ago, during that time, her stage name was Gifty Osei. She has lots of hit songs like Aseda, Fefeefe, Epikye, Adansidie, Adom, Jesus Over Do, Jesus Be Too Much, Odiyompo, and Eye Woa a recent one. Aside from these, she has had collaborations with Opanka, Zaza Mohkheti from South Africa, and many others. She has received many awards including Artiste of the Year, 2018, at the National Gospel Music Awards. In 2019 she led the nomination on list in the Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards held in Kenya. She won Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year, and Album of the Year in 2012, also in 2021, she won 4syte Gospel Music Video of the Year.
She is the host of the annual musical concert dubbed, ” The Resurrection Effect Concert”(TREC). This year’s edition promises to be power-packed and also bring the people of God to worship in one accord. The event, on the theme, “The essence of the empty tomb” will be held at Junction Mall, Nungua on May 1, 2022, at 5 p.m. prompt. It will witness live performances from celebrated acts such as Peterson Okopi from Nigeria, Tagoe Sisters, Rev. Perry Lokko, Eric Jeshrun, Jack Alolome, and a host of others including the empress herself. Rate is free.
