Dr. Alhaji Bawumia, Ghana’s Vice President, has declared that the construction of six new regional capitals has helped the development of Ghana, as promised during the 2016 campaign.

He raised concern about the limited female representation in MMDAs and Parliament.

He made the remarks at the National Association Of Local Authorities Of Ghana’s 21st Biennial National Delegates Conference (NALAG).

MMDAs, he noted, aren’t just for political involvement; they’re also catalysts for national and economic development.

He stated that the government is strengthening local authorities by building the Local Government University in Akomadan, Ashanti region, in the Offinso North constituency.

According to Hon. Dan Botweh, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, this government is exceptional in terms of developing rural communities.
He urged them to champion digitization in order to boost revenue.
This was said by Hon Dan Botweh to Richard Mensah.

Mr. Kokroh Dankwah, the General Secretary of NALAG, has appealed on all Ghanaians to help rebuild the country following the COVID-19 outbreak.
