The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga North has rejected claims that a private individual or company is undertaking a toilet construction project beneath the Pokuase Interchange.
The clarification follows concerns and reports circulating about the development, with questions being raised over who authorised the project and whether it was being executed as a private venture.
According to the MCE, the project is government-led and forms part of efforts to improve sanitation and provide essential public facilities within the area.
The Municipal Assembly has therefore sought to distance itself from claims suggesting that the toilet facility is being constructed by a private developer for personal or commercial purposes.
The clarification is expected to ease concerns among residents and members of the public who had questioned the circumstances surrounding construction activities under the Pokuase Interchange.
The Pokuase Interchange, one of Ghana’s major road infrastructure projects, has significantly transformed transportation and traffic flow within the Ga North Municipality and surrounding communities.
However, the use of spaces around major road infrastructure has increasingly attracted public attention, particularly where sanitation, environmental management and public safety are concerned.
The MCE’s comments reaffirm the government’s involvement in the project and are intended to provide clarity on its ownership and implementation.
